It’s a Dog’s Life

Our dog Vader has a very demanding schedule every morning:

  • Make sure that the humans get really out of bed when the alarm clock goes off.
  • Chase all the cats and birds out of the garden.
  • Get cuddled by the humans.
  • Remind the humans that it is time for his breakfast.
  • Wolf his breakfast down.
  • Have a nap while the humans eat their breakfast.
  • Go on a long walk and whiz around.
Afterwards Vader is always dog-tired and needs to retreat to the sofa for an extended break.

Poor dog … such a hard life. 😉

Movie of the Week: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2

Almost ten years after watching the first Harry Potter movie and half a year after watching part 1 we finally made it to the cinema today to watch the grand finale: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2. My expectations were of course high.

While the first part stayed mostly true to the book the second part has been turned into an epic battle. It reminds me a bit of Return of the Jedi: after an initial action sequence and a short reprieve a one and a half hour final showdown begins. It is full of action but still manages to find time for the important moments from the book although some details get lost of course.

Overall the movie is exciting but manages to slow down for the moving moments. It delivers the grand finale that I was waiting for.

Gingerbread Z

After HTC released Android 2.3 for the HTC Desire Z last month my mobile provider finally made the update available to their subscribers today.

Installing the update on my phone took about 15 minutes over WiFi and worked without problems. The phone is reporting 2.3.3 as the Android software version now.

I haven’t noticed many changes so far. A few buttons of the UI look a little bit different and the standard browsers feels a bit faster. Let’s see how stable the new release will work.
