Movie of the Week: The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian
Following the success of The Lord of the Rings trilogy the first The Chronicles of Narnia movie The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe was released in 2005. Silke and I watched it in cinemas and weren’t very impressed. Based on that experience we weren’t sure whether we want to watch the second movie Prince Caspian. But watching the trailers convinced us to give it a try.
And we made the right choice. The second movie turned out to be much better than the first one. More humour, a lot of action and nice special effects provide the basis for good entertainment. But most the important improvement were the main characters. They weren’t annoying wimps as in the first movie anymore. You could actually relate to them. Altogether it is not The Lord of the Rings but a good fantasy movie nevertheless.
